“Veteran of the Japanese music world” (Bandcamp), Ichiko Aoba is a singular talent.
From soundtracking Zelda for Nintendo Switch to recording her 6th studio album ‘qp’ almost entirely in the dark and collaborating with acclaimed Japanese producer Cornelius, Aoba harnesses a quiet grandeur and has been gracefully carving out a transcendent realm with her otherworldly ambient soundscapes for quite some time.
Heralded as her breakthrough record, earlier this year Aoba released her seventh record ‘Windswept Adan’. Informed by dreams it’s “her most ambitious work to date” (Beats Per Minute) and has brought her work to much deserved greater renown.
