A person with floppy dark hair stares sternly at the camera. A staircase and large crucifix are in the background.

John Maus returns with his first new music in seven years—I HATE ANTICHRIST—and with it, the promise of a live experience like no other.

A cult figure in the outer reaches of synth pop, Maus conjures something far stranger and more stirring than nostalgia. His music is dark, ecstatic, and theatrical—part post-punk sermon, part synth-driven fever dream. With brooding basslines, spiralling arpeggios, and a voice that booms like prophecy, Maus transforms retro electronics into something urgent and deeply personal.

Drawing on everything from Renaissance polyphony to coldwave minimalism, his performances are raw, physical, and unfiltered. This is not a nostalgia trip—it’s a howl from another dimension. Witness one of underground music’s most singular voices, live.

This show will be performed in the stalls of Beacon Hall auditorium with audience members able to stand around the performance area.
