A double exposure photo of a person wearing a plaid shirt with short brown hair standing outside an old building.

With a voice that blends warmth, grit, and quiet vulnerability, Joshua Burnside is one of Northern Ireland’s most distinctive songwriters.

Rooted in folk yet restless in spirit, his music moves between the earthy and the ethereal – weaving lo-fi textures, tape loops, and poetic lyricism into soundscapes that feel both timeless and experimental.

From the award-winning Ephrata to his acclaimed albums Into the Depths of Hell and Teeth of Time, Burnside has carved a singular path through contemporary folk, drawing comparisons to Nick Drake and Tom Waits while remaining unmistakably his own.

Performing in Lantern Hall, Burnside brings an intimate, spellbinding set – songs that shimmer with humanity, memory, and the quiet pulse of home.
