Sir Simon Rattle leads London Symphony Orchestra in Martinů’s Rhapsody-Concerto for viola and Beethoven’s radiant Pastoral Symphony, with violist Antoine Tamestit at Bath Forum.
Symphonic music makes a very welcome return to the South West with this special one-off concert, and Sir Simon Rattle and London Symphony Orchestra bring its healing power to Bath Forum with a romantic concerto and homage to nature.
Violist Antoine Tamestit performs Martinů’s ravishing music – he is a “flawless” (Bachtrack) performer with a tone to die for.
To follow comes Beethoven’s radiant ‘Pastoral’ symphony, its timeless beauty transporting you to the countryside via birdsong and brooks, to thunderstorms and folk dance.
