Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Lee has recorded as Mutual Benefit since 2009.

His expansive fourth studio album, Growing at the Edges, was written over the span of five years and recorded with multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Birnbaum and violinist Concetta Abbate, who contributed string arrangements. Birnbaum’s jazz and country riffs and Abbate’s chamber folk arrangements give Growing at the Edges an ensemble feel and an aliveness.

“Jordan Lee brings a watchmaker’s precision to a baroque sound typically associated with billowy grandeur.”
