Bristol Beacon and City of Bristol Brass Band present New Horizons – a celebration of brass playing across Bristol. From beginner players to competition level brass band playing, come and enjoy a full evening of brass music.

Alongside the City of Bristol Brass Band, Bristol Beacon Brass Sparks, Walscourt Farm Academy Brass Band and the City of Bristol Learner Band will all be joining in this wonderful event celebrating the tradition of brass band playing.

City of Bristol Brass Band

City of Bristol Brass Band was established in 1936 and  is currently graded as a First Section contesting brass band.  The band are committed to showing that brass band music is accessible, inclusive, relevant and above all, fun.

 

Bristol Beacon Brass Sparks

Bristol Beacon Brass Sparks are an ensemble of young brass players aged 7-11, taking their first steps into playing brass instruments with others. They rehearse weekly at Beacon Music Centre, playing music from a range of genres.

 

Walscourt Farm Academy Brass Band

Walscourt Farm Academy Brass Band are a primary aged young ensemble from Walscourt Farm Academy school in Stoke Gifford.

 

City of Bristol Learner Band

City of Bristol Learner Band are a group of young brass musicians, and are part of City of Bristol Brass Band. The ensemble is led by Graeme Newton, City of Bristol Brass Band’s E flat bass player.
