A black and white moody image of a person from their shoulders up looking at the floor. They have a fringe pushed to the side and the rest of their hair is tied up in a bun. There's a piano in the background.

Piano Day returns to Bristol Beacon with three remarkable artists exploring the piano’s boundless possibilities. Headlining is Poppy Ackroyd, one of the UK’s most inventive pianist-composers, known for sculpting delicate melodies, violin loops and inside-piano textures into immersive sonic worlds. She performs new material alongside favourites from her acclaimed catalogue.

She’s joined by Icelandic composer and producer Snorri Hallgrímsson, whose crystalline piano writing, electronic layers and choral colours have marked him as a rising force in contemporary classical music.

Opening the night is Charlie Hooper-Williams, composer-pianist and founder of Postclassical Assembly, presenting new solo pieces paired with generative live visuals.

Founded by Nils Frahm, Piano Day celebrates the expressive power of all 88 keys – and this evening brings that spirit vividly to life.
