Grammy Award-winning flautist Rakesh Chaurasia brings his masterful artistry to Lantern Hall  this March.

A pioneer of the modern bansuri (a traditional Indian bamboo flute), Rakesh’s evocative, enchanting style has captivated audiences worldwide, blending deep-rooted classical traditions with dynamic, cross-genre explorations.

A disciple of the legendary Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Rakesh possesses a rare balance of power and serenity, his emotive flute playing weaving intricate patterns of ‘Swar’ and ‘Tala’ that resonate deeply with listeners. His diverse collaborations span jazz, flamenco, and bluegrass, while his unwavering commitment to classical music has earned him invitations to prestigious global festivals, including WOMAD and the Festival of Saint-Denis in Paris.

Joined by tabla virtuoso Shahbaz Hussain, Rakesh promises a mesmerising evening of Indian classical music that will take you on a transformative journey of rhythm and melody.
