A person with curly hair wearing black is stood casting a shadow on a wall.

Sam Amidon is a celebrated multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who’s spent decades reimagining the boundaries of folk music, blending tradition with innovation.

Sam has collaborated with artists like The National, The Britten Sinfonia, and Beth Orton. His latest album, Salt River, was recorded with long-time collaborators — saxophonist Sam Gendel and drummer Philippe Melanson. The music breathes new life into folk songs and hymns and ranges from the traditional Appalachian ballad Golden Willow Tree to a radical reimagining of Lou Reed’s Big Sky

Lose yourself in Amidon’s acoustic textures and shimmering electronics and experience a transformative evening of live folk music in Lantern Hall this spring.
