Swedish musician sir Was makes meditative, shimmering grooves imbued with raw, warm humanity.

The project of Joel Wästberg, his range of influences, from pursuing jazz at a young age to spending time in Durban immersed in the local music scene, is tangible in the dreamy, kaleidoscopic soundscapes of his songs.

Having forged a path as a touring musician playing in José González’s band Julip, it wasn’t until after this, with encouragement from close friends in Little Dragon, that Wästberg fully realised his solo journey. His latest album ‘Let The Morning Come’ comprises sir Was’ most candid and honest work to date.
