A graphic style image of two people. One is wearing a floral shirt, holding a camera. Another looks exhausted whilst carrying and an axe. There are to zombies behind them with shadowy hand reaching upwards in the background. There are blood spatters and text reading

A deliriously inventive comedy-horror hybrid, One Cut of the Dead (2017) became an international cult phenomenon for good reason.

What starts as a low-budget zombie movie shoot in an abandoned warehouse descends into chaos when a real outbreak seems to interrupt filming – but nothing is quite as it seems. With brilliant twists, razor-sharp comic timing and a heartfelt love for the messy art of filmmaking, Shinichirō Ueda’s breakout hit is both a zombie parody and a celebration of creativity under pressure.

The screening will be introduced by Adam Murray (Bristol Black Horror Club), setting the scene for this modern Japanese cult classic.
