Bristol Beacon Trustee

Meeting frequency: 4 board meetings per year, plus additional meetings for trustees serving on sub-groups

Salary: Unpaid voluntary position

Bristol Beacon is the South West’s largest concert hall, promoting musical excellence, creative learning, and community engagement. Our concert halls and Music Education Centre are central to our mission of uniting people through the joy of live music.

Our committed staff team deliver over 700 events each year from concerts and workshops to festivals, graduations and free community shows across the city. In 2025 almost 485,000 people were welcomed through our doors, our Music Hub delivered 68,000 music lessons, and our Creative Learning and Engagement Programme reached more than 30,000 young people across the region.

The Bristol Beacon board of Trustees oversee how our charity is run, and is made up of a wide cross-section of people with backgrounds including business, music, law, finance and education. At this time we would particularly welcome applications from people with experience in the following areas:

  • Music Education: expertise in music education and youth engagement, with insight into how high-quality musical opportunities can positively impact children and young people.
  • Music Industry: specialist knowledge of the commercial or not-for-profit music industry, with experience spanning performance, production, or live promotion.
  • Community: strong local connections and an understanding of community needs across Bristol and the West of England, ensuring work remains relevant and inclusive.
