Adrianne Lenker

Plus support from Nick Hakim

This event has passed

A person wearing a red wooly had and a blue shirt smiles and hangs from a door frame

There’s something wistful and nostalgic about Adrianne Lenker’s songwriting akin to Phoebe Bridges and Florist. Best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter of Big Thief, Lenker’s solo work is more gentle and subtle, but all the more arresting because of it.

With her style of warm indie-folk the Minnesota songsmith has continued to surprise listeners since her debut solo album in 2014 . On her latest release, Lenker has created a breathtaking mosaic of riverbeds, basking in the afternoon sun, and dancing along tree-lined paths. A blissful soundscape to behold in Beacon Hall on a spring evening.

This song has been a quiet beacon for me. It may contain the essence of the gift of romantic love but it’s mostly about something much bigger.”

Plus support from

Nick Hakim

Nick Hakim arrived during the mid-2010s with a dazed folk-soul hybrid sound rendered psychedelic by an evident affinity for echo.

Signed to the ATO label shortly after he made his recorded debut, the earnest singer/songwriter and guitarist released his first album, Green Twins, in 2017. Since then, he has issued Will This Make Me Good (2020) and Cometa (2022), as well as the intermediary Small Things, a collaboration with saxophonist/poet Roy Nathanson.
