The head of a person wearing a top hat which has been superimposed onto a Christmas background.

Count Arthur Strong returns to Bristol as part of a new festive run of shows for late 2025 across the UK – ‘Count Arthur Strong is Charles Dickens in ‘A Christmas Carol’.

As part of his fond farewell run, Arthur delivers the Charles Dickens story and follows this with his own adaptation of the most classic of festive tales, A Christmas Carol.

Steve Delaney created Count Arthur Strong whilst studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in the 1980’s, with the character quickly becoming an Edinburgh Festival Fringe institution with his famed lecture talks gaining both a cult following and huge critical acclaim. In 2004 Count Arthur Strong became a regular star guest on BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe Show, this led to his own sitcom on BBC Radio 4, winning the Sony Award for Best Radio Comedy. In 2013 the character stepped onto TV, with the series receiving nominations for two BAFTAs for Best Sitcom and three British Comedy Awards.

Despite the brilliance of his radio and, to a lesser extent, TV work, the live arena is where he truly excels.”
