Following conversation and consultation with the organisers, we regret that the House of Savalon event at Bristol Beacon on Sunday 2 July has been cancelled. This decision was made in order to prioritise the welfare of artists, audience and everyone involved. We hope to reschedule the event at a later date, collaborating together to present work that reflects our shared values of inclusivity, celebration and self-expression.

The House of Savalon have partnered with us to bring to you another Get Qweird artist residency, this time working collaboratively in the months prior for one fantastic show, as part of our City of Beacons programme and Bristol Pride.

Ten performance artists working across different forms: drag, clown, circus, experimental sh*t and music will be spliced together as a gorgeous cabaret with music provided by the T4T album crew. Produced and directed by Astro-Zenica and hosted by the magnificent Elektra Duboir, we’re beyond excited to share what our artists in residence have been working on!

Pride is a protest and there is a deep heritage we wanted to acknowledge with the poster art. We also wanted to acknowledge the rich heritage of the queer scene and its evolution over the last few years and are delighted to share that Charley Williams will be erecting (yes erecting!) a photography archive for the occasion.

T4T – a charity event series founded and directed by trans artist George Avill to platform trans and gender-diverse creatives, will also be opening the show with a performance from Orderly Room as well as a closing performance from local DJ, Bendy Wendy.

Celebrating trans+ identities on stage and in the audience, T4T strive to create moments of safety and comfort in visibility whilst simultaneously engaging in important community action. Since their debut on Trans Day of Visibility 2022, they have released a self-titled compilation album and platformed 44 different Trans+ creative practitioners with 100% of the profits going to trans and gender-diverse individuals’ healthcare crowdfunders- which currently stands at £5.7K.

We are also pleased to welcome PHAT’s Security & Welfare team to our venue for the first time, who will be on hand to support us at the event.
