Venetian composer, musician, producer, and polymath Gigi Masin presents his new album: ‘Calypso’ – music of the gods, goddesses and heroes, capturing the celestial beauty of an epic saga.

The ‘Aegean’ sound of Calypso vividly conjures timeless Greek beauty, glistening seas, picturesque landscapes, alongside the sky-filled vistas of Masin’s native Venice.

Masin continues to be one of the most quietly innovative and singular artists in the scene. Having found a cult following for his debut 1987 album ‘Wind’ which captured gentle echoes of the Venetian landscape, Masin went on to have his track ‘Clouds’ sampled by Björk, To Rococo Rot, Nujabes, Black Eyed Peas, and Post Malone.

Over 30 years since his initial release, Gigi Masin is now receiving the artistic recognition he deserves. Refusing to be pigeonholed and continuing to make music that is “representative of the entire spectrum of emotions” (The Quietus), Masin’s beautiful and ambient compositions will sail you across the rippling lagoons of Venice as you listen in the surrounds of Strange Brew.
