Since her 1998 debut single “Make It Hot”, Lady Wray has been a certified gold creator of R&B and hip-hop. Fast forward 25 years to ‘Piece of Me’ – her latest release on Big Crown Records – and her songwriting has more soulful leanings, but with just as much groove and power of her first tracks.

Boom-bap-smacked drums and chunky basslines fill her sound creating a head-noddingly dense backdrop for her powerful and arresting voice. It’s a strong and welcome return of one of R&Bs legendary artists.

Lady Wray carries the charisma of a Jackson 5 family member, while also boasting similar vocal prowess to an icon such as Aretha Franklin.”
