Royal Birmingham Conservatoire: We Groove, You Move

This event has passed

Group of people sat on stairs with drums

Comprised of some of the brightest students from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a shared passion for classic jazz, “We Groove, You Move” promises to bring a visceral, swinging performance to the Lantern Hall.

Drawing inspiration from jazz legends such as Erroll Garner, Teddy Wilson, Monty Alexander, and Nat King Cole, the band’s repertoire features a carefully curated selection of tunes that showcase the rich history and vibrant spirit of jazz music.

Led by seasoned, professional bassist and teacher Arnie Somogyi, the quintet combines technical prowess with a deep understanding of the nuances of jazz; it’s a celebration of the next generation of jazz musicians who are pushing the boundaries of tradition while paying homage to the masters who paved the way.
