The Wave Pictures have a prolific aptitude for crafting charming, anecdotal pop earworms. David Tattersall’s singular songwriting transforms seemingly small moments into spellbinding, poetic storytelling.

Tattersall’s distinct, lilting vocals and nimble guitar hooks combine with resonant bass courtesy of Franic Rozycki and Jonny ‘Huddersfield’ Helm’s nonchalant, rhythmic drums. And whilst the trio’s songs hold a reflective melancholy there’s also a tangible playfulness to their creations.

Following their two releases in 2018, The Wave Pictures’ upcoming new double album ‘When The Purple Emperor Spreads His Wings’ is a work of four parts, each dedicated to a season with the title referring to spring.
