Bristol Choral Society strikes out once more into new territory, under the baton of award-winning conductor Hilary Campbell.
This year’s Christmas concert includes three of Handel’s Coronation Anthems, along with Vivaldi’s fabulous Gloria.
Handel’s Zadok the Priest, Let Thy Hand be Strengthened and My Heart is Inditing were originally written in 1727 for the coronation of George II, and give us a real sense of history some three hundred years later, as we look towards a new King’s coronation in 2023.
These will be followed by Vivaldi’s Gloria, a joyful hymn of praise which never fails to uplift audiences.
