We are proud and delighted to announce the 2023/24 Reopening Orchestral Season, bringing symphonic orchestral music back home to Bristol.
This is the first orchestral season to take place in our wonderful new auditorium, Beacon Hall, with improved acoustics and 21st century levels of audience comfort, access and stage technology.
We are excited to welcome back many great orchestras, including our friends the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, who we announce as our Orchestra in Residence. And the London Symphony Orchestra, who we have presented in Bath on a number of occasions during our venue’s transformation, now return to Bristol Beacon as Associate Artists.
We are bringing some of the UK’s other flagship orchestras to Bristol – The Hallé, the Royal Philharmonic and chamber orchestra the Royal Northern Sinfonia – as well as two international orchestras from Strasbourg and Dresden.
The season contains two world premieres, including Odyssey, a powerful new music-drama commissioned from Jonathan Dove. Inspired by first-hand accounts of refugees, this concert sits as part of a whole day of activity co-created with members of Bristol’s refugee community.
We look forward to welcoming you into our new spaces very soon. Enjoy this special season!
