Experience Henryk Górecki’s hauntingly beautiful Symphony of Sorrowful Songs in Paraorchestra’s signature immersive format, bringing the emotional charge of this masterpiece breathtakingly close.

Symphony of Sorrowful Songs is an astonishing meditation on loss and transcendence. In this unique presentation, musicians and acclaimed soprano Victoria Oruwari are arrayed across the floor of Beacon Hall, with audiences invited to move or sit amongst them as they perform.

Each of the three movements of this harmonic ‘spiritual minimalist’ composition features a Polish lament. Vivid storytelling – with strong themes of motherhood and loss – will take you on an uplifting journey through grief and solace.

Sung in Polish, this highly celebrated and evocative work brings both tears and joy.
