Join us for a guided tour of the artworks commissioned for Bristol Beacon by artists including Rana Begum, Linda Brothwell and Giles Round, specially organised for parents and carers with babies.
Responding to the invitation to ‘bring music to life in visual form’ and using a range of materials such as textiles, ceramics, bronze and sound, the artists have created a series of artworks that enhance this significant civic building for Bristol.
Led by Bristol-based producer Jane Porter the Bring Your Baby tours aim to make it easy for parents to bring their babies to see art.
Feel free to bring your baby in a sling or a buggy. There are spaces for a buggy park and chairs available if you need to feed your baby during the tour. Latecomers are welcome – we know it can be hard getting anywhere on time with a baby!

Art at the Beacon
Discover the physicality of sound
We believe music and visual art are natural partners. Both artforms excite when genres are crossed, ideas bubble and conversations happen.
Discover our collection, find out about the artists, and experience them yourself on your next visit. Who knows where art at the Beacon might take you?
Jane Porter
Planty Projects is led by Jane Porter, who worked as an arts producer in Bristol for ten years before changing her career after having two children.
She set up Bring Your Baby in 2017 as a response to what she felt was a lack of activities that were designed for parents during her own maternity leave. She retrained in horticulture and is now an award-winning Garden Designer, as well as a tour guide at a number of galleries across Bristol.
